2018 Forum Recap
From across the state and nation, 787 leaders and practitioners gathered to learn, share, and network with one another, engaging in a wide array of activities that addressed the 2018 Forum’s core priorities: Embracing Change to Catalyze Innovation, Uplifting Underrepresented Voices, and Taking a Whole Systems Approach. The program, delivered by over 280 speakers, included 3 plenaries, 13 workshops, 40 sessions, 8 tool demonstrations, 5 tours, 10 networking events, and climate art installations. The Forum also served as a launchpad for sharing findings from California’s Fourth Climate Change Assessment. To increase participant diversity and enable representatives from under-resourced communities and organizations to participate, Forum organizers and partners provided over 60 scholarships. Many participants shared positive feedback regarding the Forum with 95% of post-forum survey respondents rating their overall experience as “Good” or “Excellent.” Participants shared that the Forum was “rich with information and right on point” and that “the focus on environmental justice and frontline communities (being weaved into the entire event rather seamlessly) was very welcome and necessary.” Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the success of CAF!
