Register for the 2023 California Adaptation Forum

We hope you can join us this summer for California’s largest climate adaptation conference!

By attending the Forum, you will have the opportunity to hear directly from community leaders, decision-makers, and technical experts on emerging trends and recent developments facing the adaptation field while learning about tangible approaches and strategies to put new knowledge to use. In addition to the cutting-edge projects, research, strategies, tools, and resources showcased and discussed in the sessions, the opportunities to network are invaluable — so much so that for some attendees, this is the primary reason they attend the Forum.

We are excited to offer complimentary registration to support tribal community partners and Indigenous leaders representing both federally recognized and non-recognized Tribes or Native-led organizations in attending the forum. Please reach out to Julia Kim at jkim@civicwell.org to receive your registration code. If additional resources are needed to support your attendance (e.g., lodging, travel reimbursements), please submit a Scholarship Application.

Scholarships

Due to the generosity of several organizations we have the necessary support to provide scholarships of up to $1,000 to cover expenses related to attending the forum, including registration, lodging, and travel. Since we have limited funding available, scholarships are limited to one recipient per organization. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with need and background taken into consideration.

Scholarships are open to tribal governments, native led organizations, nonprofit organizations, community based organizations, local government staff and elected officials, students and other community leaders that are directly working to advance equity and climate justice in frontline and/or climate-vulnerable communities. Priority will be given to under-resourced community-based organizations, particularly tribes and Native-led organizations.

Scholarship applications will be reviewed in 3 rounds, recipients will hear back from the CAF team on May 15th, June 5th and July 3rd depending on when the application was submitted. No scholarship applications will be accepted after June 30th.  If you have any questions regarding the scholarship process, please contact Tiela Combs (tcombs@civicwell.org).
